Filmmaking & music videos

Having graduated with a degree in Film & Video, I went on to work on the art departments of various short and feature films – including an (uncredited) two days on Martin Scorcese’s Hugo.

I made a couple of my own short films, including The Pink Ladder (shortlisted for various international awards and screened around the world). I also directed a few music videos for Kinzli & the kiloWatts, and filmed many showreels for a burlesuqe dance school.

Poetry Films

I have recently made a return to filmmaking, combining the visual art form with my spoken word.

This practice was sparked by my joining GOBS Collective in 2021, which resulted in This (below), and developed further when I was selected for Apples and Snakes’ Future Voices programme in 2024.

Notnow micro-commission: Greek Like Me

Created in response to Notnow Collective’s callout for video performance micro-commissions with the theme of ‘parenting in lockdown’, this is a short monologue about a Greek lesson held over Zoom.

I’d never created a character for myself to play in a short-form video piece before, so this was a fun distraction from the general chaos of the Covid era.

Achievements

  • I was shortlisted for the Nickelodeon Writing Program 2017.

  • My feature film script Immaculate was a finalist for Persona Non Grata in 2011.
